All Rykel displays are built using hundreds of ultra-bright LEDs embedded in a sealed polycarbonate fascia, and have a weatherproof rear enclosure covering the internal electronics. The number of LEDs depends on the display size. Within the display itself is the driving and control circuitry and a Rugby MSF time receiver or semiconductor thermometer, as applicable. The display is entirely low-voltage and perfectly safe, even if vandalised. Power is supplied by an external regulator module (240VAC supply) which also incorporates the light-activated dimming system. This module can be mounted inside or outside the building.
All displays are designed for continual operation without maintenance, in the worst extremes of weather. Our displays have been operating through the 100 degree temperatures of last summer, below-freezing winters and winds over 80mph.
